Selection and application of bearing types
1. Type selection
Various rolling bearings have different characteristics and are suitable for different application conditions of various mechanical equipment. When selecting the type of bearing, the following factors should generally be considered. Under general conditions: thrust bearings and angular contact bearings are used for torsional loads, rolling bearings are generally used for high-speed applications, and roller bearings are used for heavy axial loads. All in all, the selection unit needs to select the appropriate type from different manufacturers and many bearing products.
2 The space and location of the mechanical equipment occupied by the bearing
In the mechanical structure design, the specifications of the shaft are generally clarified first, and then the rolling bearings are selected according to the specifications of the shaft. Generally, rolling bearings are used for small shafts, and roller bearings are used for roller shafts. However, when the bearing is restricted in the diameter of the equipment, needle roller bearings, extra-light and ultra-light series products or roller bearings can be selected; when the bearing is restricted in the radial part of the equipment, narrow or special bearings can be selected. Steel ball or roller bearings for narrow series products.

3 The size, orientation and characteristics of the load on the bearing
Load is the most critical element for selecting bearings. Roller bearings are used to bear heavy loads, and ball bearings are used to bear relatively light or medium level loads. Bearings manufactured by nitriding steel or martensitic heat treatment can bear impact and vibration loads.
At the aspect of load efficiency, when bearing pure axial load, deep groove ball bearings, cylindrical roller bearings or needle roller bearings can be selected. When bearing a small pure radial load, a thrust ball bearing can be selected; when bearing a large pure radial load, a thrust roller bearing can be selected. When the bearing is subjected to axial and radial coordinated loads, angular contact bearings or tapered roller bearings are generally used.
